Welcome to Sunnyside United Methodist Church
We are a joyful, intimate, and intergenerational community. We value the growth that happens when diverse people share stories and experiences as they commit to listen for God’s voice in each other.
Being small, around 25 in worship, we are able to develop a real sense of knowing each other — assisting in times of need and celebrating life’s simple and profound joys. Come as you are for there are no assumptions or presumptions at Sunnyside.
Sunnyside Church has been on the corner of SE 35th and Yamhill for over 100 years. In that time it has gone through many changes and has seen the neighborhood evolve as well. In 2008, Sunnyside Church made a renewed commitment to be a spiritual presence in the neighborhood — one that speaks to the great diversity of faith journeys about us.
Our Mission Statement
Sunnyside Church is a place of rest, laughter, growth, and joy. We honor diversity and support those who seek new insights, question assumptions, and employ a variety of means to realize the Divine. Into this family we welcome people of all ethnic groups, income brackets, religious or spiritual traditions, and sexual orientations.
Worship is at 11:00 a.m. on Sundays.
