Greetings! We hope as you read about Sunnyside Church’s worship and programs, about our commitment to the neighborhood and its evolving needs, you will begin to get the sense of what a remarkable community Sunnyside Church is.
We — Tim and Elizabeth Winslea — have been co-pastors at Sunnyside since 2005. As a pastoral team we bring our complimentary skills and commitments, which are reflected in the sermons we preach and the programs we lead. Our team leadership reflects the same elasticity that characterizes the church. We enjoy sharing ministry and the congregation enjoys having the diversity our co-pastoring brings.
We began our ministry at Sunnyside with a great respect for the gifts, needs and ideas of this congregation. Through the character and commitment of these people we have come to know God more fully and approach the art of ministry more joyfully. We seek to bring to our ministry creativity, flexibility, resilience, curiosity, and an attentiveness to how God is speaking here at Sunnyside.
We have two young children and four chickens — all of whom teach us the need for patience, the joy of helping the young grow, and the fact that life is meant to be lived fully. We love to read, have dinner with friends and parishioners, and play the occasional board game when schedules allow.
